Reviews

RFX Wireless Probe is great

"Recently purchased the RFX Wireless Probe Starter Kit. I have cooked fish twice using the probes. The RFX is easy to set up and allows me to set temps in the app to alert me when I have different sizes of fish, yet allowing each to cook to the perfect temp. The RFX range and signal strength is excellent. I can monitor the cooking temps with my fish on the grill while I am in the kitchen getting the rest of the meal ready."

Learning curve for sure, but

"Learning curve for sure, but once you get it you get it. You either need to buy the battery bank or get a Thermacell pack on Amazon with a straight dc to usb-c adapter and a dumb male to female dc cable. The fan will not spin unless it gets 12v. Your portable battery pack you already own won’t get the job done. Great product, great ecosystem. I won’t consider any other brand."

Second one I've bought

"I used a single RFX meat for a year or so, but finally broke down and bought a second one (I should've purchased the set of 4 in the first place). The RFX probes are the only ones that work flawlessly. I've tried every other major brand and a couple of obscure ones. None of them stay connected the way they should. When I use them correctly (I've goofed a couple times) the RFX work perfectly. Don't buy any other meat probe than the RFX."

I ruined a probe. . . they replaced it!

"I love RFX! No doubt about it. Works great, BUT the probes have one issue - don't expose them to too high of a temperature! I ruined a probe by (thoughtlessly) trying to use it in hot oil. The wired probe is fine, but the overheat kills the electronics. So only use the probe inserted into meat TO THE LINE. Now a plug for Thermoworks. Once we figured out what happened, they offered to replace the probe at a generous discount. Go Thermoworks!"

Perfect Tri Top

"Completed my first cook with the RFX, everything turned out great. I was very impressed by the accuracy and reliability of the system. I've only used it twice so far but everything worked perfectly. Wired probes are always a bit of a hassle, especially if you have multiple pieces of meat grilling at the same time. The wireless probes make it to look easier to maneuver things around on the grill without the worry over crossing lines. The app is a bit dated if I'm being honest. This is definitely the weakest point of the whole system. That said, it worked give, though it could be quite a bit more user friendly."

Wireless probe on RFX

"Hi, i have a wireless probe my wife got me at Christmas and i did a low and slow cook with a maximum temperature of 300F in my pellet grill. There were two probes in the meat and now one of the probes will only display one temperature reading. I do like the unit, i just hope they will last. i just bought another two probe set which is why i am getting this review as i do like them if they will work for me. Thanks"

Almost Perfect

"Works flawlessly except Looses connectivity. when the protein your cooking requires being wrapped in aluminum foil. Work around Blindly Push probe through the foil into your protein …But if your protein requires precise probe placement to get an accurate reading of doneness (i. e. Brisket) you are at a disadvantage"

RFX System Works Great!

"I have used the RFX probes and gateway several times now and cross checked them against other thermometers. They are very accurate and work great with the app. They have helped me make sure my tomahawk, pork chops and other items turned out fantastic."

Sam D. (5/5)

Great Device with Limitations

"The device works really well for large items, but because of the minimum immersion line it doesn't really work for smaller items such as filet mignon, burgers and fish. I will still find it useful for the large items but, for the price, wish it was more versatile."

Amazing!!

"I finally got to use it for the first time on July 4th, and i could not be happier!! I have tried so many of these types of thermometers in the past and they all fell short. This one worked while i slept, keeping me on top of my alarms, and i never lost signal in my pool, or anywhere around my yard. Now that i know how well it works, i will be buying more probes for it so that i can monitor more than 1 thing at a time. Thank You ThermoWorks for another stellar product!"
