The Plate-Simulating Thermometer Standard
"I have used these plate simulating thermometers for a decade at casinos, convention center and CMS inspected Senior Living Community. After I started using them I have since noticed they are what the city Health Inspectors in our area carry, as well as the CMS inspector. They are simple to use and accurate. They work well on flight, conveyor and single tray dish machines equally well. I do reccomend putting them face down on a flat rack when testing a conveyor or single rack machine. These units are more cost effective than disposable options and last twice as long as other brands' similar products. Replacing the battery is a little bit fiddly, but only a minor inconvenioence for an exceptional product. These units last longer than the competitor. I have had units last three years, which is exceptional compared to other options."

"I don't possess a dishwasher. I purchased my water temperature gauge, because it is so neat, to test early morning (6. 30am) swimming water temperature . . . the sea in the summer and indoor public swimming pool in the winter (where temperaturecan fluctate too much . . now I can comment accurately. I saw the same model being used at a hotel, took photos of it and Googled you. I am delighted with mine. I am delighted with mine and can be sure the sea is warm enough to stop my winter pool swimming, which is 2nd best compared to the sea."

Use of DishTemps to profile Finnish Sauna.
"I currently have accumulated 11 DishTemps that are mounted on a tree and different sections of the sauna so that I can profile the temperature gradient in my Thermory No. 63 Electric Heated Barrel Sauna. I limit their temperature exposure to less than 110 degrees C and they perform quite well for that application. None of them will ever see a Dishwasher, their designed intent."

"Easy to install the provided battery. Clear instructions made it easy to use. I checked the normal cleaning and hygiene cycles. Got readings of 141ú and 168ú F respectively."
Responds too slow for dishwasher
"Concept is good, but does not read fast enough. You can dunk them in water at a known temperature and it still takes much longer than a rinse cycle to respond. I cannot trust them to read simulate the surface temperature like intended."
Battery installation was difficult.
